I Collected Small Things
I Collected Small Things
You know, I have always had a liking for picking up small treasures from outside, like twigs, leaves, and little flowers. They may seem like ordinary things to others, but to me, they hold a special magic. I love finding new ways to play with them and discovering their hidden potential. However, it often happens that I wake up to find my mum or dad has thrown them away, considering them nothing more than garbage. It saddens me because to me, they are tiny treasures, full of wonder and possibility. I never really liked it when they threw away parts of my little collection, but I did not express my annoyance much. I did mention to them that I did not appreciate it, though. Thankfully, I always managed to find new treasures in the end, which brought a sense of joy and relief. Each one was unique in its own way, and although it made me a little sad that I could not keep the previous ones forever, it was also fascinating to witness the endless variety nature had to offer. I vividly remember one time when I found a twig that resembled a stickman. It instantly captured my imagination, and I spent hours playing with it. I even gave it a little cleaning and let it ride on one of my dolls. It became my new companion, and I proudly showed it around the house as if it were a new member of our family. But when I woke up the next morning, it was gone. My heart sank with disappointment, but I did not voice my sadness at the time. I did not want to offend my parents, and I struggled to explain the deep connection I felt towards my found treasures. It was like losing a beloved family member. Even if I received a new toy or something similar afterwards, it could never replace the unique bond I had with the lost treasure. It was like if I were lost and my mum simply went home to find another daughter — that would not be okay! That is why I do not like it when my little trinkets are thrown away. It leaves me feeling both disheartened and let down.
